YOU SHOULD READ THE BOOK BECAUSE......

You should read THE AUSTRALIAN CONNECTION because it`s a very understandable book which have a nice story. It´s about family problems and the big love....you get a picture of the australian nature!!! If you like storys which have a happy end you have to read this book!!!

chapter 9& 10

The band break up because Joe and Pete became racists and they hadn`t any succes anymore.
Alex had to return to London because of his deal with his mother, Dani came with him. There they build a new band "The dolphins". It becomes famous. They celebrate New Years Eve together.

In these chapter Alex didn`t say what he`s thinking if Dani and he were watching the dolphins. Dani said that they were like the dolphins...they can travel where they want and were free. But Alex thought that they weren`t like the dolphins because they cannot decide where they go....the manager tells them where they have to go because they must play and give interviews...they weren`t free.

Father and son (7th chapter)

After reading chapter 7:
1. Comment on the following quote: "And, of course, Alex understood only too well." (p.43, l.33)

In my opinion it means that Alex were able to understand a little bit more why his dad had left him and his mother. Maybe he felt like his dad when he told him why he did leave them.

2. Write a different ending of the chapter: "That night, when Alex had gone to sleep, TOM picked up his diary and began writing." (compare p.43, l.34f)

Dear diary!
Alex have been in Australia for a month. I`m so happy about seeing my son. I hope he´ll understand me and my feelings about leaving him and his mum! He has already grown up, so many years I want to cantact him but I didn`t do that. I feel very sad about my own scare that he don`t like me....because finally he is here and we talk to each other! I`m so happy!!!!! I know that he can`t see his fahter in me but I hope his see myself as a good friend! I`m thankful for seeing him now and so we´re going to stay two more nights on Whitsunday Island!!!!

After read the 6th chapter: Into the rain forest

What did Ales say? Where you right? Give evidence from the text.

After a small talk he asked Tom why he didn`t send a Cristmas card (p.31 l.23). He became very angry when Tom laughed and made jokes and didn`t say a word for excuse himself (p.31 l. 20). He cried at Tom because he didn`t understand his father (p.32 l. 2). That showed that Alex was very angry and I think a little bit disappointed too.
His dad didn`t tell him in a detail way why he had left them but he said sorry for what he had done (p.32 l.9). Tom said that he tought he`d hate him and so he didn`t contact him(Alex)(p.32 l.10-11)!
But at the end Tom and Alex like each other even Alex felt that "he had lost a fahther but found a friend" (p.36 l.25).

Before read the 6th chapter

"Predict what Alex tells Tom when he meets for the first time after 16 years??"

I think that Alex ask his father why he had left his mother. I can imagine that they speak very serious to each other because they meet the first time after 16 years! I think too, that they get to know more about their lifes. They still like each ohter, I think.

The face in the crowd (5th chapter)

The big decision (4th chapter)

In this chapter dani and alex had their first disagreement. It`s about want to be in the spotlight. Dani showed Alex little blue pinguins which were watched from many people and she said that the pinguins were cute but Alex didn`t agree with her. He thought that the pinguins don`t like to be watch by many people if they came back from fishing trip. He thought that Dani criticized him and his dreams to be famous.

I think that this disagreement between Alex and Dani isn`t very important because at the end they kiss each other again and laugh about their disagreement!

The islands and the mountains (3rd chapter)

Describe what happens on the top of St. Mary`s Peak.

As the two boys, Alex and Kevin, were on the top, they talked to each other about the view at first. Later Kevin told Alex that Tom had been there with him as he was nine years old and Tom said that he don`t want to married as soon but he already had married and he had a son! Alex were diapointet and angry about that!
After they talked, they went back to tent in rain.

Aley think on the end of this chapter:"Let him self see how HE likes it." He mean with HE his dad Tom, because he´s angry about what Tom said and I think he want to make angry his fahter a little bit for saying something like that if he had a son!!!!!

Hello Australia (second chapter)

I think that Alex was very exiting about his life in Australia. When he arrived in Australia and didn`t see his dad he would be shocked, because one argument while he travel to Australia was that he want to meet his real dad. But he wasn`t at the airport. Only his wife Mary and their two children were waiting for him.
The day was great for Alex even his dad was in London! He met Dani, a beautiful girl, and I think he`ll fall in love with her!
I want to read eihter because I want to know what`s about the band and if Alex will plays with this band.
Even his book isn`t like the books I normally read but I´m intrested how the story will go on!

The trip of a lifetime (chapter one)

The first chapter of The Australian Connection is a little discription of this story. We know that Alex is a 18- year old boy who is going to travel to Australia to meet his real dad. But we don`t know everything about his feelings about this decision. This does that the reader have to think about that things.
I asked myself why Alex`s dad had left his mother and him. Besides I want to know how the trip to Australia for Alex will be. I think that Alex does the right if he want to visit his dad in Australia. But I don`t unsderstand while Alex`s dad have not write any letters before Alex had write this one letter to his dad that he`ll come to Australia.
So I want to read either!!!!
